Here’s a quirky fundraising idea for Team World Vision. It’s simple: Kids need fresh water to live and I need new music for training. For every $25 you donate, you can select a song for my playlist. I always listen to music when I’m training and hearing your songs is a way of taking a cheering section with me. Just type the song title in your message and I’ll take care of the rest. (I’ve heard that I’m asking for trouble on this! Bring it on!) Enjoy the video. Want to make a difference in the world? I have pledged to run the Chicago Marathon on October 8th in order to raise money for fresh drinking water for children in Africa. It is hard to fathom the magnitude of the problems that these people face each and every day. $50 will provide enough water for a lifetime for one person.
Even though this is a serious problem, I wouldn’t be me if I wasn’t having a little fun along the way. During marathon training, I will be listening to over 90 hours of music while running and it is impossible to train for something as daunting as a marathon without support along the way. During those long miles, listening to music is a great way to be reminded of the people that are cheering me on while I train. For this reason, I will add a song to my training playlist for every $25 donated to Team World Vision. It’s simple, the link below will give you more information on how World Vision is utilizing its resources and what their is all about. When you donate, add your song request in the memo and I’ll take care of the rest. Running 20 training miles on a hot Summer day is never easy, but it’s easier knowing that friends are along for the run! Thank you for supporting my efforts, but more importantly, thank you for bringing life to so many that need help.
